Brass Saraswathi Idol

Goddess Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art, wisdom, and learning. She is part of the Tridevi, along with Lakshmi and Parvati. Saraswati is especially honored during the festival of Vasant Panchami, when devotees wear yellow clothes and often drape the goddess’s idol in a yellow sari. The color yellow represents wisdom and prosperity, and devotees pray for her blessings.

In Hindu art, Saraswati is usually depicted with white skin, seated on a lotus, and dressed in a white sari. Her vehicle is a swan or goose, symbolizing wisdom and purity. She is often shown playing the veena, a musical instrument, and holding sacred texts. Saraswati is the consort of Lord Brahma. Prayers to Saraswati are believed to help gain knowledge and purity.
